🌿 Chuck It in the F*ck-It Bucket
Welcome to Wisdom Wednesdays from Owl & Key
Each week, enjoy a quick guided reflection to help you unlock what's next and bring your Strategic Plan for Life into reality.
Let's dive in!
A quick note before we begin:
I hesitated to send this because it felt a little more raw. A little messy. And, yes, there’s one tiny swear word in it. But it’s the most honest thing I could say this week — and maybe you need that kind of honesty, too.
I’ve written several different drafts for Wisdom Wednesday this week trying to land the right words to send to you. None of them felt quite right. And honestly, I’ve felt completely unproductive and unsuccessful in the use of that time.
I shared my frustration with my sister — my built-in best friend and life coach since birth. She said something that hit like a truth bomb:
“Maybe you need to write about that and send it on Thursday. I think that’s how everyone I know is feeling right now. So maybe that’s exactly what we all need to hear.”
She’s right. I feel that in my bones. So, here we are on Thursday.
This is Intentional, Too
Sometimes, words or tasks just don’t come easily — and maybe that’s because most of us don’t have the capacity to read and do something long and drawn out all the time anyway.
Those moments remind us that...
“Put it down” is also an intention.
“Embrace the mess” IS intentional.
So is “F*ck it.” (Sorry, Mom. 😇)
The Magic in the Mess
We spend so much of our lives — from the moment we wake up to the instant our head hits the pillow — being productive, caring for others, checking boxes, moving the needle.
The list never stops.
So sometimes, whether it’s a full moon, Halloween energy, an astrological shift, end of the month, or just sheer exhaustion, maybe the most aligned thing we can do is let it be.
I’ve personally been working on redefining my relationship with the mess — messy emotions, messy environments, messy parts of life. Even messier emails.
The more I embrace the mess and let it be, the more connection I feel to myself, to others, and to the world around me.
Your Permission Slip
So, friend, if you need it… when you need it… here’s your permission slip to chuck it in the f*ck-it bucket.
Not because you're being lazy. But because you're being intentional.
And putting it all down will allow you to actually connect, enjoy and recharge.
Let today be a couch day.
Watch a few shows.
Laugh too long with a good friend.
Get a little messy.
Enjoy your favorite glass of wine.
Let people know you’re taking a break.
You’ll refuel again. And things will iron out.
But for now — just let yourself be.
See you next week. 🤍
