One foot in front of the other. One moment at a time.
Sometimes we need reminding that the work of living each day is steady.
Your day need not be flashy, fancy, or loud.
Embrace the ordinary and pace yourself.
Do not misinterpret this as complacency. The work of steady work is noble. It involves a commitment to clarity, focus, and thoughtful habits.
Steady work is intentional motion (or rest) over urgent action and frenetic energy.
Steady work is being present in each moment, from the enjoyable to the uncomfortable.
Steady work comes from the inside out, regardless of the storm happening about.
Steady work comes from a place of “enough-ness,” not from lack.
The benefit?
When we embrace each day this way, we embrace ourselves. We hold ourselves more gently. When a hurdle arises, rather than brace for it, we settle into ourselves a bit more deeply. We embrace our complexities. We can be present and acknowledge restlessness. We can move to find stillness. We can be as we are. We might even find that our capacity grows.
So, an invitation for you to reflect:
- What does flow feel like for you?
- What does your steady state look like today?
- What pulls you out of your steady state? What challenges it?
- What if you started each new day with a reminder that you are enough?
In gentle strength,
Angela
