Intentional Pause - Your guided reflection
50 minutes to more clarity
Friend, here's what we know about you...
You’re here because you’re a leader. You show up intentionally. You make a difference. You carry a lot. You do a lot.
Which means your mental wellbeing isn’t just about you—it shapes your relationships, your growth, and your long-term impact. And it matters now more than ever.
When your stress builds up—when life feels overwhelming—it doesn’t just affect you. It ripples into your work, your decisions, your relationships.
Here’s the thing about stress: It isn’t the problem. Neither are the things that trigger that stress (most of the time). That's all inevitable.
The real issue? We weren't taught easy-to-implement tools to navigate back to a calm, balanced state so that we can make decisions from that place.
Until now.
That’s why this week’s podcast episode is a must-listen. Only have 60 seconds? Here's a quick clip.
If you’d like a SUPER simple, science-backed way to manage stress and get back to center, Glimmers is where to start.
I was introduced to the concept of "Glimmers" because it kept coming up in our Strategic Planning for Life live sessions. People are hearing about it in podcasts, news articles, and conversations and them practicing the concept. They then show up in our sessions - physically glimmering / shining.
I was very curious, clearly.
So when the opportunity came to speak with the woman who coined the term, we jumped at the chance.
In this episode, I sit down with Deb Dana, LCSW—a globally recognized clinician, consultant, and speaker specializing in Polyvagal Theory and its practical applications.
We explore:
âś… What Glimmers actually are (beyond the buzzword)
âś… How to use them in your daily life to shift from stress to calm
âś… The science behind why they work
It’s a fun, practical, and awe-inspiring conversation, and I know you’ll walk away with something valuable.
🎧 Listen now and start noticing the Glimmers in your life.
Your Invitation to Reflect
Below is a reflection opportunity for you to get clear on where this exists in your own life. Take a moment to settle in and consider the questions below using the audio above to guide you. When you’re finished with the visualization, answer the following questions:
1) What is one thing that is "triggering" you (causing stress, anxiety, overwhelm, etc.) today? Notice how your body feels when it's triggered.
2) What is one thing that is a "glimmer" (creating calm, peace, safety, clarity) today? Notice the shift in how your body feels when you experience a glimmer.
3) What's one thing you can do to notice your glimmers throughout the day? You could write them down, create a Notes document in your phone, share with a friend, etc.
You're a Glimmer in someone else's day
Remember, you never know how you may be sparking Glimmers for others. Keep showing up, intentionally focused on your strengths, values and intentions.
