Mission Accomplished - Let's Celebrate!
Welcome to Wisdom Wednesdays from Owl & Key
Each week, enjoy a quick guided reflection to help you unlock what's next and bring your Strategic Plan for Life into reality.
Let's dive in!
This week, we closed a massive chapter in our family story. One we intentionally began designing nearly a decade ago.
Back then, we knew we wanted time freedom. Time with our boys. Time to be home and present during their earliest years. Time to choose to go to the zoo on a random Thursday if we wanted. Time to build a business that reflected our values and creativity. Time to travel the world and work where and when we wanted. Time to just be with one another.
We didn’t know how we were going to do it. But we knew why.
And this week, our youngest started Kindergarten(!!). For the first time in 8 years, both of our boys are off to school, and Phil and I have full days all week long to redesign how we use our time. A new season begins.
But before we go forward, we’re choosing to pause. To look around. To soak it in. And to celebrate.
We did it. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Not perfectly. Not without challenges. But wholeheartedly. On our own terms. With presence and intention.
And while you see our weekly notes here in your inbox, what you don’t always see is the depth of the work we’re personally doing behind the scenes—quiet reflection, deep gratitude, soft celebration.
That work really matters.
Why It Matters For You, Too
You may be on the edge of your own chapter closing. A kid starting school. A career shift. A health milestone. A quiet internal transformation.
Please don’t rush past it.
You’ve made it through something your younger self once dreamed of, worried about, or fought hard for.
That is worth pausing for. That is worth celebrating.
Don't Skip the Good Parts
Most of us skip right over this moment. We keep going. We minimize the win. We nitpick the imperfections. We rush toward what’s next.
And in doing so, we miss the quiet magic of acknowledging what we’ve actually accomplished. That moment of wholeness. That moment of deep, nourishing pride.
What to do Instead
Take a breath.
Look around.
Raise a glass.
Whisper “thank you” to your past self. Or scream it bursting with joy!
Cry off 5 lbs of water weight like we did this week.
Throw a party. Share it with others. Talk about it. Respond to this email and share the good news!
Celebration isn’t frivolous. It’s fuel. It unlocks awareness. It reconnects you to your values. And it prepares you—energetically and emotionally—for what’s next.
The Wealth of A Life Well Lived
The richness of life isn’t found in perfection.
It’s found in presence.
And presence starts with honoring where you are… and where you’ve been.
A Personal Anchor
Ten years ago, we chose time freedom. This next decade, we’re designing the next layer of our lives around a whole new set of parameters. We're deep in the visioning process this year.
And we’ll build it the same way we built the last one—by being deliberate, values-aligned, and grateful for each season as it passes.
A Reflection Invitation
So before you rush toward what’s next, ask yourself:
- What deserves to be celebrated right now?
- What’s already been achieved that your younger self would be proud of?
Don’t skip the pause. That’s where the wisdom lives.
With deep gratitude,
Krista
