Intentional Pause - Your guided reflection
10 minutes to more clarity
A common misconception I hear in my work - our Strategic Planning for Life sessions - is that intentional living is supposed to be easier or feel better than existing by default. Or that there’s some sort of end point or shiny perfection to it.
Participants will often say, “I’ll come back to this when I’m in a better, more energized place to do it.”
The truth is that it’s not always pretty or shiny or easy or fun.
Any place is a good place to start, especially in the hard times.
With intention comes more confidence that you have the tools to navigate any situation.
And ultimately, you will look back on life knowing you will not die with your dreams inside of you, or waste your time on things that didn’t matter, or leave a mark on the world and people that frankly, wasn’t all that authentic or positive.
One of the biggest barriers people have to living more intentionally is money. It’s always money. And healthcare. But mostly money.
Phil and I are no different. Money is a huge part of the journey and must be considered and worked with thoughtfully.
I want to share a personal story with you to help capture this point and give you a foundation for reflection on this topic in your own life. While I’m using money in the story below, you can swap it in your own life with any fear that may be keeping you from living in more alignment with your values.
